Jeanne Deal, 3508 Capital Ave. SW, commented on the minutes from the prior Commission meeting regarding smart meters.

 

Comm. Helmboldt expressed concern the public should be allowed to comment on the meeting minutes prior to the general public comment period.

 

Mayor Walters stated they would allow the comments regarding the prior meeting minutes at this meeting, but would have the Meeting Rules and Ethics Policy Review Committee review the rules for procedure.  

 

John Kenefick, 234 South Avenue, commented on prior Commission minutes.

John Kenefick, 234 South Avenue, also spoke on wireless meters.

 

Bobby Holley, 160 Waubascon Rd, spoke of an upcoming domestic violence prevention forum at the Burnham Brook Center the following day.

 

Reece Adkins, 58 Jericho, commented on a property on Cherry Street.

COMMISSION COMMENTS

Comm. Sherzer informed residents he received information on smart meters and was currently reviewing it.

 

Comm. Helmboldt read a letter from Lt. Anthony Geigle, Emmett Township Public Safety, to Chief Schmaltz, Battle Creek Fire Department.   Comm. Helmboldt further read of Emmett Township 's appreciation to the Battle Creek Fire Department for their assistance on a local fire.   Comm. Helmboldt expressed his appreciation to Chief Schmaltz.

 

Mayor Walters noted the recent passing of three retired Battle Creek Police Officers, stating it was an honor to work with them.  Mayor Walters expressed his appreciation to Chief Blocker and his staff for attending their funerals and honoring them by having the Fire Department raise an American flag over the Police Department to commemorate their service to the City and the community.

Mayor Walters adjourned the meeting at 7:58 pm.
